Das Buch bietet erstmals eine Einfuhrung in die methodologischen Grundlagen des Paarinterviews in der interpretativen Sozialforschung und in methodische und methodenpraktische Aspekte seiner Anwendung. Paarinterviews werden zunehmend verwendet, aber es existieren kaum systematische Ausfuhrungen hierzu. Wir stellen - nach einem Blick auf die Anfange der deutschsprachigen soziologischen Paarforschung - zentral die besonderen Erkenntnisinteressen und -moeglichkeiten des Paarinterviews vor: Es kann vielfaltige relationale Aspekte wie Interaktionen, Aushandlungen und Ungleichheiten im Paar sowie Paarperformances und Paar-Prasentationen des Paares und als Paar in situ erfassen. Diese Erkenntnismoeglichkeiten veranschaulichen wir anhand ausgewahlter empirischer Anwendungen. Es folgen methodologische und methodische UEberlegungen zur Anwendbarkeit, Durchfuhrung und Gesprachsorganisation. Auch wird die Erganzung mit Einzelinterviews und mit anderen Erhebungsformen angesprochen. Schliesslich zeigen wir Grenzen dieses Erhebungsinstruments auf und stellen zuletzt ausblickende methodische und methodologische Fragen. In dem Buch greifen wir auf unsere langjahrigen Erfahrungen mit Paarbefragungen zuruck. Das Buch liefert zugleich eine forschungspraktische Anleitung fur Einsteiger*innen und fortgeschrittene Paarforscher*innen sowie grundlagentheoretische UEberlegungen zum gemeinsamen Paarinterview.
